This website on Serbian phaleristics is a collation of essays and articles I wrote over the years on the scholarly topic that has occupied my interest over last few decades.
Whilst there is a reasonable amount of published literature on Serbian Orders and Medals (see Further Reading), there is still not a lot available in English language. Out of what’s out there in English, in some cases the main phaleristic topic is often drowned in and clouded by over-complicated historical backstories of the Balkans which in most cases do not add much value to understanding the specific order or medal, but are successful in repelling the reader from the main theme. In other cases, some works are not entirely accurate and other are substantially misleading, particularly in recent times with some newly established decorations sharing the same or similar name as the original royal decorations.
Primary purpose of this Website is informative and propaedeutic. It aims to introduce the reader to the topic of Serbian phaleristics in simple form and give guidance for further research. It has no scientific aspirations or similar pretensions.
I do not monetize or otherwise gain materially from this Website. The only benefit out of it is eventual scholarly recognition.
